Solid wood top bar table, 1060 mm
Steel carries the load and timber takes the wear, which is why this one puts a solid wood top on a steel frame rather than choosing between them: the frame decides whether the table moves, the wood decides how it looks in year five.

1060 mm is a working height, not a design decision
At 1060 mm the top sits just under the hand of somebody standing with a drink, so the glass goes down without a reach and comes back up without a look. That 40 mm band above 1020 is what separates a table people lean on from a table people step back from.
The pairing matters more than the number: a 750 mm stool and a 1060 mm top leave the knees clear and the elbows supported. Move either one by 50 mm and the guest ends up sitting sideways.
Solid wood on a steel frame
All-timber bar tables look right and move wrong. Standing-height furniture takes an off-centre load every time somebody leans, and timber joints loosen under that cycle faster than a welded frame does. Putting the wood where it shows and the steel where it works is the cheap version of doing both properly.
The wood is the wear surface, so the finish is what gets specified: oil takes a mark and can be repaired in place, lacquer resists spillage and shows scratches sooner. On a dark floor with warm light, oil reads better every time.
Three frame colours, and what they do
Black disappears against most floors and lets the wood carry the room. Brown softens the piece in a timber-heavy interior. White lifts a dark corner but shows scuffs at the base, so it belongs where the table is not the thing people kick.
