Velvet chair, 900 mm back, black or walnut
Nine hundred millimetres of back on a 450 mm footprint is a tall, narrow chair, and it is the shape that makes a snug feel enclosed without eating floor space.

Sitting under a tall back
Backs at 900 mm sit above the head of a seated guest and above the sight line of most standing ones. That gives a corner a roof, which is why tall-backed chairs end up in the places people choose to stay.
On a narrow 450 mm footprint the effect is concentrated: the chairs take up little floor area and still build a wall. Along one side of a snug, four of these do more than a banquette would.
Getting in and out
Tall backs mean guests step around rather than slide in, so these chairs need more clear space behind them than a low chair does. Pulling them tight against a table edge is a mistake that only shows once the room is full.
Black and walnut frames sit under a velvet cover without competing; a pale frame under a dark velvet turns the chair into a two-tone piece, which is a much more specific decision.
