Why texture helps on a bar floor
Flat sealed covers show every scuff as a shine, and scuffing happens at the seat front and the top of the back within months. Texture breaks the light up, so the same wear reads as part of the finish rather than as damage.
The texture also gives grip, which stops a guest sliding forward on a shallow seat and takes some of the shear load off the seat stitching.
Iron frame under a soft cover
Soft covers on light frames are the usual combination in a busy room, and the failure is almost always at the fixing rather than in the frame. The cover here is stitched to a shell that is bolted to the frame with threaded inserts, so repeated side load goes into the insert and not into the timber or foam around a screw.
Four colours cover most schemes; brown and black carry age well on textured PU, dark grey hides wear on a floor that gets heavy foot traffic, and white works where the lighting is warm.
