Iron lift stool, 840–940 mm
840 to 940 mm is a short adjustment and a deliberately cheap one: it covers the spread between a counter built to drawings and a counter built on site.

Short range, honest purpose
This is not a stool for a floor that changes use; it is a stool that absorbs the 40 mm a builder was out by. Short column, simple clamp: a fraction of the cost of a gas lift, and the same job where the seat is set once.
Where the range will be used weekly, the gas lift version is the better purchase and the clamp version will disappoint.
Iron, minimal
Iron is cheaper to weld into a simple frame and heavier per metre than steel tube, which on a stool with no back is exactly the right trade: the weight sits low and the frame stays plain.
