Minimal timber stool, seat and frame
Minimal in timber means every joint is exposed, so the drawer is not what a stool looks like but how the four legs meet the seat frame at close range.

Joints on show
With no upholstery or apron to cover them, the leg-to-seat joints are the first thing a buyer sees and the first thing that fails. Wedged tenons show as a line on the seat surface and stay tight; dowels and screws show as a plug and work loose once the timber moves.
That is why a minimal timber stool costs more per joint than a conventional one and less per square metre of visible furniture.
Made to size
Sizing is available because the frame is jointed rather than moulded: a 20 mm change in seat height is a cut, not a new jig.
