Velvet gas lift stool, 860–1070 mm
860 to 1070 mm is a range that spans a counter and a bar top in one stool, and velvet is what makes the same seat read as lounge furniture at either end of it.

Gas lift, and what to expect from it
Gas columns are sealed units with a finite number of cycles. On a stool adjusted twice a night it lasts the life of the cover; on one adjusted all evening it does not, and there is no service that changes that. Buy it for occasional adjustment, not for constant re-setting.
The ring has to travel with the seat. On a fixed ring, half the range is at the wrong footrest height.
Velvet that survives a bar
Velvet wears by flattening, and it flattens fastest where the back meets the shoulders. Brushing it back after a wipe is the whole maintenance routine, and it is the difference between a three-year cover and a one-year one.
