One stool, two services
Venues that switch from seated to standing on the same floor do it by changing the furniture set-up, which costs staff time twice a night. With an adjustable column the change is a matter of raising a seat rather than moving a stack of chairs.
The gold base is what makes the stool look intentional at both heights; a plain chrome column at 850 mm reads as a bar stool that has been left up.
PU on a swivel, at the low end
At 640 mm the guest sits with knees under a table, so the cover takes load from the thighs rather than the back. That is where a cheap PU splits, at the front edge where it wraps the foam, and why the wrap on this seat is stitched on the underside.
