Swivel iron stool, 600–800 mm
600 to 800 mm of swivel covers the whole seated-to-standing transition on one frame, which is the only reason a venue needs a mechanism on a stool at all.

Swivel and lift together
Two mechanisms on one stool is twice the failure surface. The swivel wears as a bearing and the lift wears as a cartridge, and both are replaced from the same column. Where a stool is adjusted nightly, that column becomes a service part with a life of its own.
Where it is adjusted twice a year, the same column outlasts the upholstery.
Iron at 800 mm
At the top of this range the column is nearly empty and the base is doing all the work. Iron is the reason this stool does not walk when a guest leans on the seat at full height, and the reason it feels heavier to move than a steel equivalent.
