Timber high-back stool, 600–800 mm seat
600 to 800 mm seat height in one high-back frame is a range that answers a counter, a bar top and everything between, without changing the back a guest leans on.

Same back at every height
High backs are the expensive part of a timber stool, so keeping one back pattern across three heights is what makes a range economical. The legs change length and the back stays identical, which also means a venue can add a standing row later without a visible mismatch.
800 mm is the top of the honest range for a timber back: above it the lever arm on the rear legs grows faster than the leg section can follow.
Where a high back belongs
Against a wall or a window, where it adds to the room rather than blocking the view across it. On an island counter, the same back cuts the sight line from the door and makes a room feel narrower than it is.
