Timber stool with cushion, walnut
Made-to-size on a timber stool is worth paying for when the counter is not on a module, because 20 mm of extra seat pitch along a twelve-metre run is one more cover.

When custom size pays
Standard stools at 450 mm wide leave 100 mm between seats on a 550 mm pitch, which is the minimum for a guest to get in without moving the stool. Push the pitch to 570 and the same run takes the same number of seats with room to sit down properly; push it to 600 and the run takes one fewer seat but nobody is climbing over anybody.
Custom width lets that arithmetic be done against the actual counter length instead of against a catalogue.
Cushion on timber
Fitted cushions sit inside a rebate in the seat rather than on top of it, so it does not slide and the edge is not a soft lip that catches clothing. The trade is that it has to be made for the seat, which is why replacement cushions are ordered with the stools rather than afterwards.
