Condensation is the specification driver
Steel boxes with a heater in them sweat. Every morning the walls run with water, and anything near them takes it. Timber that is sealed on the top face only will lift at the edges within a season; the answer is a top sealed on all faces, including the underside and the end grain, and a frame that is zinc-primed before the powder coat goes on.
Iron frame sections are powder-coated over a zinc primer rather than straight onto bare metal, because a chip on bare iron in a damp box rusts from the inside and the finish lifts around it.
Steel tops for a room that gets hosed
Container bars are usually cleaned with a bucket and a hose rather than a cloth and a spray, so the furniture has to tolerate standing water. Steel tops with a folded edge have no joint for water to enter, and the fold stiffens the panel so it does not drum under a dropped glass.
Booth in a small box
The 900 mm booth back in a 2.4 m wide container leaves just enough room for a 700 mm table and a walkway. Higher backs close the space in; lower backs leave the steel wall visible and the room reads as unfinished.
