High-end Leather Ribbed Booth Sofa And Metal Edge Table Set

Rib spacing decides how long the back lasts
Ribs are not there to look like a members' lounge. Each rib is a separate panel of foam held by a seam, so the padding cannot migrate sideways along the back. Where the ribs are spaced at 65 mm the back holds its profile down the full height, and where they are spaced at 120 mm the foam between two seams still flattens under a shoulder, which is where a ribbed back starts looking tired.
The rib runs vertically rather than horizontally because the load arrives vertically. Horizontal ribs take the weight of the shoulder across its whole length and sags in the middle; a vertical one carries it down to the seat frame, where the frame can take it.
The metal edge is a wear strip, not a trim
The table carries a metal band on the edge because that is the part of a top that gets hit by a chair back, a belt buckle and a bag. Timber takes that damage in the first year and the repair never matches. The band takes it and stays the same colour, because the metal is the same through its thickness.
It also changes the read of the table. The thin dark line at the edge separates the top from the floor and from the booth behind it, which matters in a room where everything is a similar mid-brown.
Private rooms and back bars
This set goes into rooms where the furniture is expected to look new for longer than a bar floor would allow. The two things that age fastest in that setting are the seat front edge and the table edge, and both are specified for wear rather than for finish.
