HPL top table, square, 600 mm
High-pressure laminate is what a table top should be in a room that has no maintenance budget: the face is the finish, and there is nothing under it to lift.

Thin edge, hard face
HPL gets its edge from the way it is built: layers of paper and resin pressed into one sheet, so the face and the core are the same material. There is no veneer to lift at a wet edge and no coating to chip off the corner, which is what happens to a painted top after a season of chairs being pushed in.
It is also the only top in this range that can be wiped with anything without a second thought — bleach, a scouring pad, a cloth that has just cleaned the floor.
Weight at the base is the whole stability story
Thin tops are light, and a light table at 600 mm square moves when a guest leans on one corner. The base does the work, and on this model the base is deliberately heavy: a cross or pedestal in plate steel rather than tube, wide enough that the top cannot tip.
Where the floor is uneven, the same base takes adjustable feet — worth specifying rather than adding later.
Walnut black, and other faces
Walnut black reads as dark timber in warm light and as a plain dark surface under white light, which is why it works in both a lamp-lit back room and a bright front one. The same top is available in lighter faces for rooms where the floor is dark and the tables need to separate from it.
