Wood grain metal table
Wood grain on steel is a finish decision, not a cost decision: it buys the look of timber in a room where timber would be wet, dragged and chipped within a year.

Where timber would fail
Terrace corners, smoking areas and the strip beside the door — places that get rain, mopping and a hundred wet glasses a night. Timber in those spots either drinks the water and lifts at the edge, or gets refinished twice a year. Steel with a wood grain coat takes the same abuse and reads as timber to anyone who is not touching it.
The give-away is temperature and sound, not appearance: steel is cold to the hand in an unheated room and rings when a glass is set down hard.
Powder coat, and the seam that fails
Coating holds on a steel top until it is chipped, and the chip is what spreads. On a table edge that gets knocked by chairs, a rolled edge holds the coat far better than a cut edge, because there is no exposed steel for water to work under.
Wood grain finishes hide small chips better than flat colours, which is the practical reason they are specified on tables rather than on walls.
Made to size
This one is quoted per size rather than from stock, so a run can be cut to the room. Where a plan calls for a 700 × 1100 top that nobody stocks, this is the version that answers it without a join visible in the middle.
