Square bar height table, 600 mm top

1050 mm of standing height on a 600 × 600 top. The square edge and the plate base are what let it sit flat against a wall, where a round top on a disc leaves a gap nobody can use.

Square wins in a corner, round wins in the open

The round top leaves two crescents of dead floor behind it in a corner, and nothing can be put there because the table is in the way. The square top pushes back into the corner, and the wall becomes part of the seating instead of an obstacle to it.

The same geometry works along a wall run. Two or three of these pushed to the wall read as a ledge, and the gap at the back that a disc base would create simply is not there.

What fire-proof plate actually is

The top is a high-pressure decorative laminate over a substrate, edged and fixed into a steel frame. It is not stone and it is not stainless steel, and calling it fire-proof is the trade name rather than a fire rating. What it does do is the thing standing zones need: it takes a hot cup without marking, it wipes clean of a spilled drink, and it does not ring when a glass is put down hard.

The white face is the standard because a light top in a dark room shows the edge of the surface and stops the table disappearing into the floor. Any other face colour is available if the scheme calls for it.

Plate base rather than a disc

The base is a square steel plate. In an open room a disc is the better shape, because nothing catches on it. Against a wall the plate wins on a different count: its flat edge sits parallel to the skirting, so the table goes back the last 60 mm that a disc would keep it away from.

It also takes the same load the disc takes. Standing-height tables get leaned on, and the mass sits low and spread, which is what keeps the top from walking across the floor over an evening.

1050 mm, and the stool that goes with it

At 1050 mm the underside of the top leaves a hand's width over a 750 mm stool. That pairing is the whole reason for the height; a 650 mm counter stool would leave too much room and the guest ends up leaning down to the surface all night.

Where the room already has a fixed counter at 900 to 950 mm, the matching seat is a 650 mm counter stool and this table will sit too high next to it. Send the counter height and we will confirm which of the two heights the zone needs before anything is quoted.

Colour and finish

The frame and the base are powder coated and can be any RAL; the top face is separate and is chosen from the laminate range. Most orders go out with a white top and a black frame, which is the pairing in the photographs.

Assembly, packing and terms

The column bolts to the base plate on site, and the top arrives fixed to the column. Top and base are wrapped separately inside one carton, so the plate cannot work against the coated top in transit.

Minimum order is quoted per colour and per top face, because the laminate and the powder coat are ordered separately. EXW Foshan or DDP to your address.

What to send

How many, which colour for the frame, which face for the top, and where they are going. If they are going into a corner, send the wall dimensions — three of these along a 2 m run is a different answer from three in a row with gaps.
