Modern Customized Seating Booth Set, Sofa Booth
Where the wall is doing the work, the seating has to get out of the way. That usually means a lower back and a plain cover, not a better one.

Get out of the wall's way
Where a wall has a fluted timber panel at head height, a tall upholstered back in front of it hides the thing the room was designed around. The back here stops at 820 mm, below the bottom of most wall panelling, and the whole run reads as a bench along the wall rather than furniture in front of it.
That decision also changes who the room is for. At 820 mm two people can talk across the back, which in a narrow space is what makes it usable.
Mitred top edge
Flat backs at this height have their top edge at eye level for a seated guest. Turning that edge over and mitring it removes the line that would otherwise be the most visible thing on the piece.
Foam is 40 mm with a firm top layer, so the edge holds its shape rather than rounding off within a year.
Sand is the safest cover in this catalogue
Sand goes with timber, with stone, with brick and with painted walls. It does not lift a scheme and it does not date, which is exactly what a piece of furniture designed to be background should do.
It does show marks. At this back height most of the wear is on the seat, and the seat is the part that gets replaced first.
