Modern Velvet Sectional Sofa Booth, Metal Frame
Carrying the cover over the box as well as the back removes every horizontal line in the piece, which is what makes a long run look like part of the room rather than a row of seats.

No horizontal line anywhere
Most booths have three: the seat line, the top of the plinth, and the floor. Wrap the cover over the box and the middle one goes, which changes the whole read of the piece.
What replaces it is a vertical: the channel run carries from the top of the back down to the floor with only the seat interrupting it. On a long wall that gives the room a rhythm instead of a stripe.
The kick zone
Upholstering to the floor means the part that takes boots is a cover, not a lacquered board. That is either good or bad depending on the cover.
The jade vinyl here is a 1.3 mm contract grade with a reinforced backing, which takes a scuff. Lighter covers in the same position wear through at the corner within two years, and the repair means re-covering the whole panel.
Jade, under a decorated wall
Where the wall behind is doing something, the booth has to stay quiet. Jade works because it is a single flat colour with texture from the channels and no pattern of its own.
Put a patterned cover against a decorated wall and the two fight, and the room reads as busy without anybody knowing why.
