Pale on the seat, not on the back
Pale on the back means taking the coat hooks, the leaning and the light from the room behind. Pale on the seat takes the sitting, and sitting is the wear a separate pad can absorb and then be replaced.
The split runs along the seat line, so the composition reads as a dark back over a light base rather than as two colours fighting across a field.
Side panels close each bay
Each bay is closed at both ends by a 30 mm pale panel, which gives the divided seating its own architecture instead of leaving the ends of a run floating.
The panels are lacquered MDF rather than upholstered, because they take chair backs and bag corners that would mark a cover within weeks.
Teal and white together
White next to teal makes the teal read cooler and the white read warmer. That is a useful effect in a room with warm light, because it stops the pair from going green as a whole.
Keep the white out of the floor. On a pale floor the contrast collapses and the bays stop reading as separate seats.
