Something to lean on that is not a wall

In the middle of a floor, a bench booth has nothing behind it. Guests lean back anyway, and the back flexes until the frame loosens. The screen gives the back a fixed point at 880 mm and carries on above it as a perforated panel that reads as a boundary without closing the view.

Perforated rather than solid, because solid steel at this height turns the bench into a fence. The perforation lets the room stay visible from both sides while still taking the lean.

Timber box under black leather

Black leather over a pale timber box is a contrast that has to be clean at the joint. The box is 40 mm and the leather is stapled to a rail behind the front face, so the line where they meet is a shadow rather than a row of staples.

Pale timber also shows the floor and the room in its reflection less than a dark box would, which keeps a heavy piece from reading as heavy.

Fixed to the floor, not the wall

The screen posts go through the floor with a bolted base plate, so the whole assembly is stable without touching anything behind it. That matters where the bench sits in front of glazing or a light well.

Tell us the floor build-up before the order is placed. Forty millimetres of screed and a raised access floor need different anchor lengths.
