Legs as the frame of the look
Pale covers on pale legs disappear into a room. Black legs give the chair a definite edge and pick up the bar front, the window frames and the shadow lines, which is how a soft chair stops looking like it was brought in from somewhere else.
Metal legs also keep the seat down to a fixed height, which matters where chairs have to line up along a counter.
Six hundred millimetres wide
Width is what makes this chair comfortable for a longer sit, and it is also what makes it awkward in a row. Two of these on a 900 mm two-top crowd the table; on a 1200 mm four-top they sit well.
Boucle across this width reads as a single surface, so seams matter less than they do on a narrow chair where every join is in view.
