PU high stool, steel frame
Stability on a high stool comes from the base and nothing else, and a base that is wide enough to be stable is also wide enough to be kicked, which is the trade every bar makes once.

Base before back
High stools with a wide back and a narrow base is the most common piece of unsafe furniture on a bar floor. The order of decisions is base first: how wide it needs to be at the top of its height, then how much back the base will carry.
On a standing counter the answer is usually a base wider than the seat by 150 mm, which is more than it looks in a picture.
PU on a high seat
At 1100 mm the guest's weight arrives at the seat with a lean behind it, so the foam compresses at the front edge and the cover takes the load. High-resilience foam holds that shape; soft foam takes a permanent set in a season, and the cover then looks loose at exactly the point where everyone sits.
