Gold leg high stool, H1240 mm
At 1240 mm the back sits above every other stool in the room, which is either the point of the design or the thing that ruins the sight line to the bar, and there is no middle answer.

The sight line question
Stools that stand 1240 mm tall are above the counter line and in the eyeline of everyone standing behind it. In a room with a back bar and a long view, that can be the design; along a narrow counter it cuts the room in half and the guest still gets the seat they wanted.
The practical rule is to keep tall stools to the perimeter and against a wall, and to run low-backed stools along any counter that another guest has to see past.
Gold legs at length
Gold on a long leg shows every defect: a ripple in the coating, a weld that was not dressed, a run in the paint. That is why the finishing stages matter more on a tall frame than on a short one — there is simply more surface to get right, and no shadow to hide in.
Where the frame is going to be knocked by shoes at the footrail, the coating at the base is the first to go. Matte gold wears better than bright, because a scuff on matte reads as part of the finish.
