Six hundred millimetres is the club standard
The 600 mm square top takes two guests standing, or two on stools with a bottle between them, and it fits into a 900 mm gap between tables. That gap is what makes a club floor navigable at capacity: below 800 mm guests turn sideways to pass, and the room stops flowing.
The single column under the middle of the top is what keeps the floor clear, and the 400 mm disc at the base is small enough that the next table can sit close without the bases clashing.
Iron frames and the wobble question
Cheap four-leg tables wobble because the legs are welded to a flat plate that bends, and every table on the floor ends up with a folded beer mat under one leg. Iron legs welded to a folded ring rather than a flat plate hold their plane, and the adjustable glides take up the last few millimetres on an uneven floor.
Iron is also heavier than steel tube of the same size, which is what stops a table walking when a crowd leans on it.
Textured black under club lighting
Neon and coloured spots turn a smooth black top into a mirror of the room, which reads as noise. Textured powder coat scatters the light, so the table stays black and the room's colour stays on the walls where it belongs.
