Bar Booth Sofa And Table Set In Modern Style
Velvet in a bar is a calculated risk: it looks better than anything else under a low lamp, and it shows a spill for about ten minutes before it dries.

Velvet-look polyester rather than cotton velvet
Cotton velvet crushes permanently where a guest sits, and in a booth the same spot is sat on every night, so the pile flattens into a visible patch within a season. Polyester velvet recovers, because the pile is heat-set and springs back. It also takes a stain guard, which cotton does not.
What polyester lacks is the depth of a cotton pile under a warm lamp. The compromise used here is a short, dense pile at around 280 gsm, which reads as velvet at a distance and takes a wipe.
Fixed booths, loose tables
Booths get floor-fixed because a bench that moves loses its alignment with the tables and the room starts to look untidy by week two. Tables stay loose so a bay can go from a four to a six by adding a chair at the end, which is what a private floor needs when a group arrives.
Blue and grey as a pair
Blue and grey in the same room work because the grey gives the eye somewhere to rest between saturated bays. Used alone, blue velvet in a low-lit room reads as black; the grey bays are what let the blue read as blue.
