Stools get stood on, so the frame is specified for it
In a live venue, a stool is a step. Someone will put a foot on it, then both feet, then their whole weight to see over the crowd. Pressed sheet metal legs open up at the mounting plate under that load; the frames here are welded steel tube with the seat plate welded rather than screwed on, so the load path runs from the seat into the legs without a fastener taking it in shear.
The footring is welded at 260 mm rather than clipped in, because a clip-in ring is the first thing to go when it is used as a step.
Counter height over a slatted front
At 1050 mm the counter hides the working side with slats in front without closing the room off. The slats sit on a steel subframe 60 mm behind the front face, which lets the counter be moved and re-levelled without the slats taking the load and working loose.
Seats with a low back in a standing room
Padded stools with a low back give a guest something to lean on while keeping the sightline to the stage clear from behind. High backs in a live room create a wall of upholstery at head height, which is exactly what a venue cannot afford.
