Backlit glass top table
Light from under a glass top does one thing well in a dark room: it marks where the table is, so a guest carrying two drinks across a crowded floor can see the edge before they reach it.

Table and light in one piece
Enclosed booths have a lighting problem that ceiling fittings cannot solve: the light lands behind the guest, throws their face into shadow, and leaves the table surface — the one place everyone looks — as the darkest point in the room. Putting the source under the glass reverses that, and the glow becomes the light the faces are lit by.
The practical effect is that a booth with one of these needs fewer fittings overhead, and the ones it keeps can be dimmed further, which is usually what the room wanted in the first place.
Glass, and the two things that break it
Heat and edges. Tempered glass over an LED layer is cool to the touch, so a hot cup is not the risk people assume; the risk is the edge, which is where glass fails when a chair is pushed into it night after night. The frame is set so the glass sits inside a lip rather than flush, and that lip is what takes the hit.
Colour is a setting, not a finish. Rooms that leave it on one colour for a month stop noticing it; rooms that set it low and change it by the evening get the effect the table was bought for.
Where these earn their cost
Booths at the back of a room, private rooms off the main floor, and the raised area behind a DJ position — anywhere the ceiling is far away or already busy with rigging. On an open floor with good overhead light, the same money buys a better top material instead.
