Tufted PU chair, mid-century profile
Tufting on a PU gives a padded look at a price a run can carry, and the button depth is what decides whether it reads as seating or as a showroom piece.

Button depth, and what it does to comfort
Deep buttons pull the padding down into the seat and leave hard points under the cover. Shallow tufting keeps the material full and the seat even, and it is the version that survives daily use without a guest finding a button through the padding.
On a mid-century profile the tufting usually runs across the back only, with the seat left plain. Treating the seat the same way costs comfort on the one surface that takes the whole of a guest's weight.
Fifty-nine centimetres of depth
Depth at 590 mm puts this firmly in the lounge category rather than the dining one. It is a chair for a corner table that is not turned, and for a room where the floor space around it is already generous.
Metal legs under a padded body give the chair a light edge and keep the weight down, which matters if the room gets rearranged between services.
