Curved-back stool, three timbers
Three timber species at three prices on one design is the honest way to sell a wooden stool, because the shape is the same and only the material under the finish changes.

Walnut, ash, rubberwood
Walnut is the hardest of the three and the only one whose colour goes through the section, so a knock can be sanded back. Ash is pale, open-grained and takes a stain evenly. Rubberwood is the plantation option: stable once kiln dried, softer, and half the price.
All three are specified here because the difference shows up in year five, not on the day of delivery, and a buyer should be told which one they are getting.
Linen on a curved back
Linen over a curved shell works because the curve holds the fabric under tension, so it does not pucker at the edges the way it does on a flat panel. That tension is also what makes the cover hard to replace badly: it either sits right or it visibly does not.
