Minimalist stainless swivel stool, H920 mm
Minimal on a bar stool is a machining problem, not a design one: with no upholstery to hide behind, every weld on the frame is on show from a metre away.

What minimal exposes
Take the padding off a stool and what is left is tube, bends and welds. Grinding and polishing a joint costs three times as much labour as leaving it as it came off the torch, and on a frame like this the difference is visible without leaning in.
That is the honest reason a minimal stainless stool costs more than an upholstered one of the same height, and why a cheap version of it looks cheap.
Stainless at 920 mm
At counter height the frame is mostly column, which is where a light tube shows flex. If a 920 mm stool rocks under a hand, the base is not the problem — the column wall thickness is, and it cannot be fixed after the fact.
